Monday Coffee Date – Bree Hester Stuttgart Family Photography – Stuttgart Fruhlingsfest 2018. Colorful rides, lederhosen, dirndls, excellent beer, and great food – it must be Spring Fest in Stuttgart!
Our Sunday adventure this week was to Frühlingsfest in Stuttgart. We live a short bus ride to the fest grounds and it is a very fun way to spend an afternoon. I’m sure you have heard of Octoberfest, this is very similar, just held in the spring. It isn’t quite as big as the fall fest, but it is the largest spring fest in Europe. If you’ve never been to fest, it is a lot like a state fair, but with excellent beer and better food. You can eat in the tents, or you can go from stall to stall and sample all kinds of delicious things. I actually really liked how Fruhlingsfest is set up compared to Oktoberfest. There is a very large Biergarten in the center with lots of different food stands and lots of places to sit and enjoy a beer and snacks.
In October, almost everyone is wearing lederhosen and dirndls, this time it felt more like 50/50. Ava and Clay like having an opportunity to wear theirs – Will, notsomuch. Fest is one of my favorite places to take pictures at. It is incredibly colorful and full of life. The stalls are gorgeous and lit up. I love rides, and absolutely love shooting from the top of the Ferris Wheel. You get such a great view from the top and can scope out what rides you want to go on from the sky.
I’m hoping to get there one more time before it ends next weekend. I would love to do some night photography there. Life has been crazy and hectic, and we don’t have a lot of empty blocks on the calendar this week. But I’m going to try. I also might have a new lens to play with. *Crossing fingers it gets here in time.*
EATING // Strawberries are in season and they are incredible. They are tiny and sweet and I buy them at the stand across the street. I see this in my very near future.
READING // I just finished The Oracle Year by Charles Soule and enjoyed the fast pace and it made me think about a lot of things. A good beach-y read, but sort of a guy version of that kind of book. If that makes sense.
GIFTING // Mother’s Day is this weekend and I know that this mom would like these pajamas. These are my absolute favorite and I give them to my mom and mother-in-law every Christmas.
WEARING // My favorite smell in the world is my children after a day at the beach. The mixture of sunshine, salt water, and sunscreen on their sunkissed skin is intoxicating. This is the closest thing that I’ve found to that smell. Last year, my daughter made me the sweetest Mother’s Day gift by making me spray bottle of that smell and she nailed it. I wish that I could have that little spray bottle forever.
LOVING // I’ve been rewatching the show Medium. I loved it when it was on in the mid-2000s and am liking it even more this time around. Wes can’t stand this show, so I save it for when I’m editing and need something to keep me entertained but don’t have to pay tons of attention to.
HAVE AN AMAZING WEEK!
