Monday Coffee Date – Bree Hester Stuttgart, Germany Family Photographer. Valentine’s Day, Dances, sheep, cake disasters, and the Olympics!
My baby went to his first dance. With a GIRL. He had a DATE and he brought her FLOWERS. He’s 9 y’all. She asked him to be her girlfriend. He responded with a gentle, “no thank you.” He told me that he “just isn’t ready for a girlfriend right now”. He’s a lover, I feel like this is going to be a theme in his life for many years to come.
The sheep made their way to Robinson Barracks. The move from field to field in our neighborhood to snack on grass and fertilize the way nature intended. They are very skittish and don’t love having their picture taken. They headbutt each other and I said that maybe that is how they hug each other. Ava and Clay thought that was ridiculous and went to reenact sheep hugging by headbutting each other and laughing at me.
I made a cake that almost made me cry. It was for my neighbor’s little girl who loves My Little Pony. I got a late start, had to toss the first cake I baked, I finished the cake and put the Ponies in it to have one fall over and smooch the trim, I fixed that situation and put it in the fridge to set up to have one of my children knock the side with an orange juice container. I wanted to throw it against the wall and cry. I fixed it the best that I could and it was all worth it when I heard my neighbor open the door to squeals of delight when she saw her cake.
My husband was away all week and brought me these beautiful flowers (from the gas station!) and it made my whole day. I needed that after a long week home alone with my kids. Did I mention that I recently started homeschooling my older kids?
WATCHING // The Olympics have started and they are incredible! We spent a good chunk of the weekend trying to figure out how to stream them. Also, Tara and Johnny are delightful.
EATING // Cinnamon Gummi Bears. I love Busy Phillips Instagram stories and her weakness is cinnamon gummi bears. I was intrigued and ordered some. I shouldn’t have. These are just cinnamon-y enough, and the perfect texture. Now they are my weakness.
