Monday Coffee Date – An evening watching the shooting stars at Burg Hohenzollern, Germany. Incredible views, delicious food and drink, and a perfect date night.
This weekend Wes and I went to Burg Hohenzollern for a meteor shower party. We asked the kids to come with us, and they all wanted to stay home. They missed out. This was such a nice way to spend an evening in Germany.
The castle is about an hour from our house. You buy a ticket and take a shuttle to the top. There is a really nice biergarten that is there all the time, but for this event, there were some additional vendors. The pizza was incredible. The potato chips were incredible. The snacks were on point. And if you are a Hester, you are really into beer snacks.
You can walk around the grounds, take in the views, and enjoy a beverage watching the sunset. They had a bubble artist that was the highlight of the evening. When the sun goes down, they project images all over the walls of the castle. They had performers and music and it was a great time. All night, we kept saying how the kids were missing out, they would have loved it. And there were lots of kids there.
The rest of the weekend was super chill. Will had a friend over, I worked, and the kids just hung out. We have a few weeks left before school starts so we are enjoying not have a schedule for a few more days.
I have conflicting feelings about the kids going back to school. Part of me is so looking forward to some structure and to have some time to myself, and the other part of me really misses them when they are in school. I really like having my kids around. They are my favorite people.
WEARING // Don’t @ me, I know this isn’t cheap. But I had a gift card and I love it. Sunday Riley Good Genes and Blue Luna Oil is changing my skin. I started a nightly ritual and my skin has never looked better. (Okay, maybe when I was 20, but I didn’t appreciate it when I had it.)
EXCITED ABOUT // Fall books! I have pre-ordered quite a few of these and I am ready to light my pumpkin candles and spend some QT on the couch.
