Monday Coffee Date – Bree Hester Stuttgart Family Photography. Our first visitors, hardcore brunching, and being a tourist in our own town.
This week was exciting as we were getting ready for our first visitors! We met J & J years ago when we were stationed together in Sacramento. We love them and were thrilled when they told us they were coming for a visit. Wes took the week off and we are going to be tourists in our own town. We are doing a few day trips and then we are all headed to Paris for the weekend. Weirdly, we haven’t done a lot of exploring around Stuttgart. We go downtown all the time but haven’t gone to the towns around us. Heidelberg was requested, so that’s where we are going.
Yesterday, we had our friends for Sunday brunch. Everything is closed here on Sunday, and they were exhausted from a long flight and jet lag, so I made a big brunch. I love being able to cook for people. It brings me so much joy.
I love Paris and have been a few times. It is the first for my family and I can’t wait for them to visit a city I love so much. It will never get old for me. I was there in the fall with my sister and brother-in-law all we did was walk around, and it was such a nice day. We shopped, had a fancy French lunch, and walked all over. We went to the Eiffel Tower and sat on the lawn and drank wine and watched it light up. We don’t have any concrete plans for this trip either. It is how I prefer to travel. I do book tours on occasion (it’s the best way to beat a line) but we are all about the explore and get to know a city by meeting the people, eating the food, and taking it all in.
(How cute are these llamas? We went for a walk at Killesberg park after brunch.)
WISHING FOR // I am drooling over this Jaclyn Hill makeup brush set. I also love the video where she explains how to use each brush. I am a sucker for a YouTube makeup tutorial.
EATING // I made homemade English muffins. I was convinced that they weren’t going to work because the dough was so soft, but they were PERFECT and worth the effort. Jennifer Garner made me do it.
DRINKING // I made Pimm’s Cups for the brunch yesterday. I used ginger ale and they were delicious.
BAKING // I need this Oreo Sheet Cake in my life. And I have never tried that flour frosting before.
WEARING // I’m ready for flip-flop season. We got a taste of it yesterday and it has returned to cold and grey today. Putting these on standby. They are made from yoga mats and are so comfortable.
HAVE AN AMAZING WEEK!
