Monday Coffee Date – Bree Hester Stuttgart Family Photography. Broken fingers, downtown Stuttgart, chocolate croissants, and Black Panther!
Good morning! It was quite a week here. Will got home from his snowboarding trip with a broken index finger and a sprained middle finger. He landed on it playing in the terrain park. We had our first German ER experience and it was an adventure. Will is less salty now about it, but he was not happy about missing the end of basketball season and the beginning of lacrosse. I am hopeful that it will heal quickly and that he won’t be in a cast for very long. He broke it right on the growth plate so we were lucky just to get a cast and not surgery.
The big kids had orthodontist appointments downtown on Saturday. We took the train in and enjoyed the sunny afternoon. It has been so gray and gloomy that the sunshine felt so good on our faces. We made a pit stop for Ava’s favorite thing in the world, pain au chocolat. I hope that someone loves me as much as Ava loves a chocolate croissant. We met the orthodontist and then walked around a bit and had a delicious dinner. We haven’t done that in awhile. It was so nice and it made me so ready for spring.
One of the best things I did this week was clean my office. I cleared out some boxes that have been here since we moved in and rearranged some things, and it is so much nicer in here. I’ve been shooting a lot of food lately and it is so much easier to do in a clean space. I don’t know why I waited so long to clean my office. I have so much more space.
WATCHING // We saw Black Panther yesterday and it was really good. I’m not a huge fan of Marvel movies or that genre in general and I really enjoyed it. It is a beautiful movie. The female characters are strong and not sidekicks, they are characters that I hope we see more of.
BAKING // I need to make these Lemon Cheesecake Cookies very soon. I love lemon anything and these look delicious. Any very easy.
WEARING // It’s COLD here. The high for tomorrow is 24°. Not putting away my winter coat anytime soon. This is one of my favorite hats made by one of my favorite people.
LOVING // I started using Monat for my hair. Ava and my hair took a beating when we moved here. The water is so hard and it has damaged our hair. After using Monat for 2 weeks, my hair is looking and feeling so much better. It’s not cheap, but I’ve tried so many shampoos/conditioners and it is worth it. And it smells amazing.
