Monday Coffee Date – Bree Hester Max Eyth See Photographer – A really long week, a fire at the amusement park, the end of school, and some much needed time on the water.
Why do 4-day weeks feel like the longest weeks ever? Last week I went to Paris to visit a friend of mine that was in town. We had such a great time catching up, exploring the city, and eating all of the carbs. Paris is magical and every time I go, I fall a little more in love than before. I got home late Saturday night after missing my train. (It was an inconvenient and expensive mistake. Yikes!) I made it home to spend some of the long weekend with my family.
We were going to take the kids to Europa Park on Monday. We assumed that it would be empty because it was a Monday and it would be a perfect time to go. Well, they had a HUGE fire on Saturday so we decided to skip it and do a park closer to home. We went to Tripsdrill instead and were very wrong about the parks being empty because it was a Monday. We hadn’t realized that the German kids were on a 2-week break, so the place was packed.
It ended up being fine, it thinned out later in the afternoon and we didn’t have to wait very long at all for any rides. I love that park. It is less than an hour from our house, super clean, and there is enough for the big kids that everyone is happy. Will and I LOVE roller coasters and they have some good ones.
The rest of the week felt like it was dragging. Will finished school, Ava will finish this week, and Clay is done next week. I can’t wait for them to all finish. I’m ready for summer to officially begin!
Yesterday, Wes and I were going to go to the mineral baths, but I chickened out. In Germany, most are fully nude and I was not mentally prepared to see and be seen. I am not a prude about this kind of thing normally, but I think that I need to go alone and figure out the whats what before I go with Wes. The websites don’t have great translation and I am always in fear of offending people. I don’t want to get scolded by a naked old man.
Instead, we decided to venture to Max Eyth See and go to a Biergarten that I drive by on the way home from the grocery store. You can see the sign from the street, but you can’t see what’s further down the road. We were all so happy to see water. When you are from the beach and spend your whole life on the water, you really miss it when you don’t have it nearby. It felt a little bit like the Cape in Germany.
We are going to go back in the very near future and rent a boat. If you are in the Stuttgart area and need a little water fix, this is a great place to go. We had a great lunch at a Biergarten and took a nice stroll around the lake. We will for sure be spending more time here this summer.
EXCITED ABOUT // I love underwater photography and used my son’s GoPro all last summer. This summer, I splurged on an underwater housing for my phone. I can’t wait to play with it on our Slovenia trip!
WEARING // I really miss my beloved Buxom lip gloss and will stock up when I go to the States this summer. In the meantime, I’ve been loving this one.
CRAVING // These are almost too cute to eat, but I’d still eat them. Happily.
