Monday Coffee Date – Bree Hester Stuttgart Family Photography. Two sets of braces, ice cream, mashed potatoes, and all of the flowers you can buy for ten euro.
Will and Ava had a big weekend. They got their braces on. Braces have come a long way since I was a kid. No more bands around molars, less time on teeth, and so many colors of bands to choose from. They are much more fun now. My kids might not agree with you, they aren’t exactly thrilled about the situation. Their mouths are sore, so it was a weekend of ice cream and mashed potatoes. They are feeling better today, I can tell because they are eating again.
The orthodontist’s office is downtown, so we walked around a bit after our appointment and went to the flower market. Truth – I’m not normally out and about by 9 am on a Saturday, but the market might just get me to get up early to buy flowers. They are gorgeous and so cheap. I always have fresh flowers and it is amazing what you can bring home for less than 10€.
We also had a big birthday. Clay turned 10. 10th birthdays really make me sentimental. Even more so when it is my baby. We have a house full of big kids now. 10 is when they go from being little kids to big kids. On the cusp of tweenhood. I loved having a house full of babies, but I really love having a house full of older kids. I love seeing who they are becoming and am excited about what their lives are going to become.
READING //The Oracle Year by Charles Soule. What if you woke up one morning and could predict the future? How would your predictions change the world? I can’t put it down.
WISHING FOR // The pollen to get washed away. We need 2-3 days of strong rain to help get the yellow off of everything. My boys are miserable and we are going through a lot of allergy meds.
INSPIRED BY // How this woman TRANSFORMED her base house. It will be a pain to repaint all of it back to white when they have to leave, but it seems worth it. We lived in a Canadian PMQ (actually two of them) and they are really nicer than any American base house we’ve ever seen. Her kitchen is a testament to that.
WEARING // I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that my aging skin can’t get away with just a tinted moisturizer these days. I need a real foundation to take care of what needs to be taken care of on my face. I love this foundation stick. It isn’t cheap, but it works like a dream. Blends beautifully, and lasts for 12 hours.
WATCHING //The Handmaid’s Tale is back. This is not a light show by any means, but it is so good. I am a little worried about how this season is going to be since it is not in the book. But I’m sticking with it.
Our sheep are having BABIES. This is Oreo, and she is adorable. She acts like a puppy and drives the other sheep crazy. Pretty soon there will be lots of little sheep babies to bug them.
HAVE AN AMAZING WEEK!
