Monday Coffee Date – Bree Hester Stuttgart Family Photography. Lots of soccer and lacrosse, a walk around Ludwigsburg Palace, and scary movies.
It was another gorgeous weekend in Stuttgart. Warm temps, blue skies, and all of the flowers are in bloom. Something that Europe does right – flowers. They are everywhere and this flower-loving girl loves that there are pops of color all over. We had our first sports-filled weekend. Ava and Clay are playing soccer and Will is playing lacrosse on a German team. If you need us from Friday night through Saturday late afternoon, chances are good that you will be able to find us on a field somewhere.
We really miss flying our drone and taking aerial pictures. Drone laws are very strict here in Germany and we tried to find a legal spot yesterday with no success. It is near impossible to find something legal AND pretty to fly over. We gave up and decided to go to Ludwigsburg Palace instead. This is our “neighborhood” castle. There are a lot of castles around Germany, and this one is a mere 12 minutes from our house. It is about 30 euro for us to get in, it is beautiful (inside and out) and a nice way to spend an afternoon.
There are lots of little gardens and paths to explore and playgrounds for smaller children. You can have lunch or a beer at one of the cafes inside or hit a crepe stand. In the fall, there is a pumpkin festival that is a must visit. You have to see it to believe it. We just missed the Easter festival, but there were lots of eggs still hanging from trees and on display.
We stopped for slushies and crepes and had a very nice Sunday wandering around the gardens. How was your weekend?
(I’ve seen this crystal ball all over Instagram and bought one to play with. My husband and kids are obsessed with it. Who knew that a $15 crystal ball would be the thing that got them to let me take a million pictures without argument?)
TALKING ABOUT // I haven’t been able to stop talking about A Quiet Place. It is such a good movie. Yes, it is scary, but more like jumpy scary, not gory scary. It is the best movie I’ve seen in a long time. RUN to the theater and go see it.
CRAVING // My kids have not stopped talking about these cookies since I made them a few weeks ago. I made another batch this weekend and froze have of the cookie dough to bake off when a warm cookie craving hits.
LOOKING FOR // I’m on the search for a cute summer hat. I’m all about the winter hat, and have quite a collection. But I am looking for something with a brim to keep the sun out and still look cute. Inspired by this.
LISTENING TO // I’m not normally a country music fan, but I cannot stop listening to Kacey Musgrave’s new album Golden Hour. It is the perfect summer soundtrack. Currently on repeat.
STOCKING UP ON // It’s the season. Stocking up on lots and lots of sunscreen. This will forever be my favorite brand, it smells like the islands.
HAVE AN AMAZING WEEK!
